Requirements

Must:
- We are looking for significant experience working as an enterprise or senior data architect within complex organisations. - We need strong experience in enterprise data modelling, data governance, and data architecture design. - We need experience working in large-scale hybrid environments, including legacy systems, cloud platforms, and third-party services. - We need demonstrable experience designing and assuring data integration solutions, including APIs and distributed services. - We need knowledge of data quality, metadata management, master data management, and data taxonomy approaches. - We need experience working with data standards and structured reporting formats such as XBRL, iXBRL, JSON Schema, or OpenAPI. - We need a strong understanding of data security, privacy, and risk, including secure handling of personal and sensitive data. - We need professional certifications or qualifications in architecture or data disciplines, such as TOGAF, DAMA, or CDMP. - We value cloud platform data certifications such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - We need experience with modern data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and data tooling. - We need proven ability to engage, influence, and challenge a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders. - We need the ability to balance immediate delivery needs with a longer-term strategic architectural vision. - We need strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with confidence to make and defend architectural decisions. - We need excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - We need experience working collaboratively across organisational and disciplinary boundaries.

Responsibilities

- We will have you define, govern, and evolve our enterprise data architecture. - We will have you lead the development and maintenance of our enterprise data architecture and roadmap, aligned to organisational strategy and change portfolios. - We will have you define and maintain enterprise-level data models, including conceptual, logical, and where appropriate physical models. - We will have you establish canonical data definitions, domain boundaries, and integration patterns to support reuse and interoperability. - We will have you provide architectural assurance so that solutions align with our agreed data architecture principles. - We will have you support the identification, valuation, and prioritisation of critical data assets to maximise value and return on investment. - We will have you create, publish, and maintain our enterprise data standards, patterns, and guidelines. - We will have you chair or contribute to data governance forums and architecture review boards. - We will have you approve, manage, or escalate deviations from agreed data standards. - We will have you ensure data governance policies, including classification, access, and retention, are embedded in delivery. - We will have you identify data-related risks and compliance impacts and support appropriate mitigation. - We will have you promote strong data quality, metadata, and master data management practices. - We will have you define data quality indicators and frameworks for measurement and improvement. - We will have you drive adoption of data ownership and stewardship across the organisation. - We will have you ensure effective data lifecycle management from creation through to archival. - We will have you support programmes and projects to translate business needs into robust and compliant data designs. - We will have you provide specialist data architecture advice to solution architects and development teams. - We will have you assist with complex data migrations, legacy transformations, and API-based integration approaches. - We will have you support data platform and tooling decisions to ensure alignment with enterprise standards. - We will have you ensure our data architecture supports the secure handling of personal, sensitive, and restricted data. - We will have you align data designs with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, including data protection legislation. - We will have you work closely with security architecture colleagues to ensure secure data flows and access controls. - We will have you advocate data-driven decision making and provide mentoring and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.
