Requirements
Must:
- Knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum for Excellence, Pre-birth to Three, Building the Ambition, How Good is Our Early Learning & Childcare, and the National Care Standards
- Proven experience working with young children and their families in an early years setting
- Qualification that meets the Scottish Social Services Councils requirements for Practitioners
- Ability to plan and implement a curriculum through short, medium, and long-term planning
- Essential ability to speak and read Gaelic
- Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required
Responsibilities
- Plan a curriculum that supports and guides childrens all-round learning and development
- Plan and organise play sessions tailored to the needs of every child
- Provide cover for the Manager when required
- Organise daily, weekly, and termly play schedules in collaboration with the Manager and Nursery Key Workers
- Make observations and assessments of childrens play activities
- Maintain and update records of childrens personal details and attendance
- Oversee the safe collection of children at the end of the day by an authorised adult
Description
We are looking for a Play Leader at Sgoil-àraich Thunga to join our dedicated team in delivering high-quality early learning and childcare. This permanent position is for 26 hours each week during term time, offering a salary of £21,426 - £23,148 per annum, which includes a £1,820 Distant Islands Allowance.
