### To succeed in this role, you’ll need a blend of technical understanding, precision in writing, and the ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences. You should be comfortable working across hardware, operating systems, and virtualized environments, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Specifically, you should have: - Proven experience as a Technical Author or Technical Writer in an IT or infrastructure environment. - A strong understanding of compute, virtualization, and containerization technologies (e.g., Linux, VMware, OpenShift, Kubernetes). - Experience documenting monitoring tools such as Nagios or CheckMK. - The ability to translate complex technical information for non-technical audiences. - Familiarity with defense or highly regulated documentation standards (advantageous). - Excellent written communication and document lifecycle management skills. ###

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving high-quality technical documentation that enables users—often operating in challenging environments—to effectively deploy and maintain complex computing solutions. Your key responsibilities will include: - Lead & Deliver: Author, edit, and maintain clear, accurate documentation across compute infrastructure systems. - Collaborate & Innovate: Work with engineering and project teams to gather insights and ensure accuracy of all materials. - Translate & Simplify: Turn complex concepts into clear, step-by-step guidance suitable for non-technical audiences. - Standardise & Control: Maintain document templates, version control, and consistency in line with defense standards. - Support & Enable: Contribute to training materials and knowledge bases to enhance internal capability. - Optimise & Improve: Ensure documentation supports offline usability and meets mission-critical operational needs. ###
