Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to possess a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). You should have hands-on experience with BMS/HVAC systems and a solid understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with clear communication abilities to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable qualifications include BMS/Smart Building certifications (e.g., Trend IQ Vision, Niagara Framework) and knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 50001, NABERS, BREEAM, or LEED. Experience with IoT device deployment and telemetry, as well as familiarity with Net Zero Carbon strategies and smart building analytics, would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
In your role as an RCC Operative, you will monitor building systems, including BMS, HVAC, lighting, and IoT, to identify and resolve issues. You will apply first-line remote fixes and escalate complex problems as necessary. Managing service requests and ensuring timely resolutions in line with SLAs will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will produce reports on your interventions, spotlighting impacts such as energy savings, system improvements, and reduced risks. You will also support IoT device integration and assist with smart building deployments, collaborating with on-site teams and contractors to ensure operational excellence while complying with change control, data security, and audit requirements.
