Requirements
Must:
- Strong Wintel Server background
- Current SC Clearance
- Basic engineering practice knowledge
- Understanding of basic networking concepts
- Experience in Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019)
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and standard Windows tools
- Ability to identify cable types, port roles, and basic switch diagnostics
- Capability to perform basic connectivity and ping tests
- Willingness to work onsite in Warwick and Wokingham daily for 8 weeks
- Effective communication skills for liaising with on-site contacts
Responsibilities
- Deliver Terminal Services project on-site in Warwick and Wokingham
- Provide hands-on support during infrastructure and system rollouts
- Liaise with on-site contacts to ensure smooth operation and communication
- Follow scripted configuration steps using provided laptop
- Execute documented procedures to apply configuration changes
- Maintain logs of changes and unexpected issues encountered
- Perform basic connectivity and ping tests
- Verify implementation of configurations via standard network testing tools
- Provide basic troubleshooting and escalate if necessary
- Support ongoing infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Offer feedback on process efficiency and documentation clarity
- Contribute to knowledge base by documenting lessons learned on site
Description
We are looking for a Wintel Engineer to join our team for an initial 2-month role, with a focus on delivering a Terminal Services project. This dual-location position requires on-site work in Reading and Warwick, providing you with the opportunity to engage directly with clients and contribute to significant infrastructure rollouts.
