Must:
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who has proven experience in test automation for web and API-based applications. You should possess strong knowledge of Selenium, Page Object Models, and test automation frameworks. Familiarity with software testing methodologies and CI/CD integration is essential. You must be capable of working independently in a fast-paced, agile environment. Additional desirable skills include experience using Cypress, Postman, or RestAssured for testing frontend and backend APIs, as well as previous experience within MOD or Defence environments. An understanding of AI or simulation-based systems would also be advantageous.
Responsibilities
As a Senior QA Engineer, I will expect you to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies to ensure product quality and reliability. You will design and implement test automation frameworks for both frontend and backend systems. Creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman, and RestAssured will be part of your role. Collaboration will be key, as you'll work closely with developers and stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve defects. You will define test plans, coverage, and the overall QA approach for the project. Initially, you will work independently as the sole QA resource, while also providing leadership and mentorship as we expand the QA team.
Description
We are excited to bring an experienced Senior QA Engineer onto our DE&S AI team for this 12-week project, starting in January 2026. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a confirmed MOD project that focuses on leveraging AI to enhance platform availability and drive productivity improvements across Defence operations. The project involves rebuilding an existing tool that predicts asset availability based on varying parameters. Following a successful discovery phase, the team has determined a full rebuild is necessary, encompassing the application infrastructure, simulation model, and user interface. This initial phase will focus on delivering the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and laying the groundwork for the full-scale product build.
