Requirements
Must:
- Proven track record in storage and backup administration within secure environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.
- Experience with SAN storage and backup technologies (e.g., NetApp, EMC, Veritas).
- DV security clearance is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily health checks on SAN and backup environments.
- Allocate and deallocate storage volumes as needed.
- Configure SAN switch zoning and manage firmware upgrades.
- Maintain backup infrastructure and execute restores upon request.
- Troubleshoot backup failures and ensure compliance with retention policies.
- Implement changes following client change management processes.
- Conduct disaster recovery testing and maintain relevant documentation.
- Produce management reports and contribute to problem resolution using ITSM tools.
Description
I am seeking a Storage Engineer to be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of storage and backup systems within my clients Dragonfly account. This role ensures high availability, security compliance, and performance of SAN and backup environments, supporting both business-as-usual operations and project delivery in a highly secure setting. You will collaborate closely with other engineering teams to design and deploy new storage solutions and support transition and transformation activities for secure environments. The position is based in Barrow with a hybrid work model as needed, and the contract duration is for 4 months or longer. The daily rate is £550 - £600 inside IR35.
