Requirements
Must:
- BEng/BSc and/or masters degree in an appropriate engineering, computer science, information systems or related subject
- Knowledge of Sensor and Communication systems
- Experience in Systems Engineering and technical leadership across functional teams from R&D concept through to full product development lifecycle
- Knowledge of Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT)
- Familiarity with Electronic Warfare (EW) including EA, ES, ECM, ESM, RF cyber, middleware and radio bearers
- Understanding of defence frameworks and standards such as PNT OS, MOSA, ASPN
- Systems understanding of hardware, firmware and software including DSPs, FPGAs, software defined radios, RF systems and antennas
- Familiarity with development processes like Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, and Spiral
- Ability to identify and analyze key risks, issues, and problems and manage them through technical RAIDOs
Responsibilities
- Gain understanding of existing system products and future development agendas in domains such as GNSS, eLoran, and alternative navigation
- Act as a System Design Authority on specific projects across the full engineering lifecycle from initial R&D concept to product and support
- Provide leadership and systems engineering expertise to technical teams in delivering research, solutions, product development, equipment trials, and business development
- Strengthen customer relationships and develop business opportunities through expert technical assistance
- Provide technical assurance expertise across a broad range of internal projects and on behalf of clients
- Liaise regularly with project management teams and customers for progress reviews, ensuring technical delivery to time, cost, and performance/quality
- Work dynamically on customer sites, from the office, in shared workspaces, or from home as needed, with occasional overseas travel
- Conduct rapid prototyping for Urgent Operational Requirements (UOR)
