Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with strong technical networking knowledge supported by industry-recognized certifications, such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Juniper JNCIS-ENT. You should have experience with routing protocols, virtual routing instances, VPNs, and security zones. A solid understanding of network security products, including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), is essential. Proficiency in F5, Cisco Secure Firewall, and Gigamon technology is also required. You should possess demonstrable design experience with global network vendors like Cisco and Juniper, along with strong skills in network device configuration, troubleshooting, and defect resolution. A good understanding of the project life cycle from requirements gathering to operational acceptance is critical for success in this role. Additionally, you will need SC Clearance to start and a willingness to undergo DV Clearance.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and deploying functional networks (LAN and WAN) to meet both organizational and customer needs. You will diagnose and troubleshoot network issues, including those escalated by lower tiers of support. It is imperative that you design and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware from potential threats and unauthorized access. You will collaborate closely with executive team members, decision-makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals while helping to identify and resolve any business systems issues. Maintaining comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks, including network diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures, will be a key part of your responsibilities.
Description
We are a global IT consultancy looking for three Senior Network Design Engineers to join our team within the secure Defence and National Security sector. This role involves understanding both business and technical requirements. You will produce the relevant design collateral, ensuring it passes governance reviews, and provide hands-on configuration and implementation support. Troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring effective handover to service while supporting the project team in achieving milestone deliverables will also be part of your daily tasks. Our Basingstoke office offers a hybrid working arrangement, with on-site attendance required approximately 2 to 3 days a week.
