Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, KQL (Kusto Query Language), or Kibana Query Language is essential. Additionally, a strong analytical mindset is needed to process large datasets, detect threats, and identify misconfigurations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for documenting findings and engaging stakeholders.

Responsibilities
As a SIEM Engineer, I will support the deployment, configuration, and management of modern SIEM and EDR platforms. My primary tasks will include configuring, deploying, and maintaining SIEM platforms, such as Microsoft Sentinel or Elastic SIEM, and building optimized log ingestion pipelines. I will manage and maintain tools like Tanium, Trellix, FireEye, Microsoft Defender, or Elastic EDR, while monitoring security logs and alerts to investigate anomalies, understand attack patterns, and provide actionable recommendations. Moreover, Ill configure and maintain Syslog servers and manage Syslog feeds to ensure reliable log forwarding. I will deploy out-of-the-box integrations for Sentinel and develop custom connectors and ingestion methods for diverse log sources. Collaboration with IT, SOC, and wider security teams will be key in strengthening our organizations cybersecurity posture.

Description
This position is located in Wokingham with a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week on-site. The contract is for a duration of three months from the start date, with a rate of £430 per day, classified as inside IR35. SC security clearance is required for this role. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on technical security expertise and a passion for threat detection, analysis, and automation.
