Requirements
Must:
- Active SC clearance is required
- Strong hands-on technical expertise in SAS technologies and Oracle
- Deep knowledge of configuration management and the software testing lifecycle
- SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) experience
- SAS Data Integration (DI) expertise
- SAS Management Console experience
- SAS Studio job development and deployment
- Experience with SAS Viya 3.5 / Viya 4
- Familiarity with SAS Visual Analytics (VA) and SAS Visual Investigator (VI)
- Understanding of Oracle data staging and decisioning workflows
- Knowledge of configuration management standards
- Experience with testing strategy, planning, execution, and defect management
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Methodical, detail-oriented planning and execution ability
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Experience within HMRC or similar public sector environments (desirable)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud-hosted platforms (AWS, Azure, SAS PaaS) (desirable)
- Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Airflow (desirable)
- Exposure to SAS Migration Factory delivery models (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee software releases across development, test, and production environments
- Ensure configuration integrity, structured deployment, and smooth migration activities
- Own and manage the end-to-end release process across environments
- Coordinate development, testing, and operations teams for timely, high-quality releases
- Maintain and enforce configuration management standards using manifest files and structured artifacts
- Oversee packaging and deployment of SAS DI code (SPKs) and Oracle artifacts (clear-text files)
- Support SAS 9.4 to SAS Viya 4 migration activities using CI/CD practices and Capgemini accelerators
- Facilitate release readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, and post-release retrospectives
- Ensure full traceability and auditability of release components and decisions
Description
We are looking for a Release Manager to join our team in Telford. This hybrid role requires two days per week on-site. The Release Manager will be instrumental in overseeing software releases, ensuring quality and integrity throughout the process. Our team values strong communication and technical expertise, particularly in SAS technologies and Oracle. We offer a competitive rate of £515 per day for an initial contract duration of six months.
