Requirements
Must:
- At least 12 months of hands-on experience in advanced Python 3 development for production automation
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Proficiency in Bash and PowerShell scripting
- Automated deployment across server, network, and storage environments
- Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure environments
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues
- Experience in Agile development practices
- At least one current professional certification (e.g., CCNP, VMware VCP, RHCE/RHCA, OCA)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory)
- Solid MS Office skills
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate infrastructure automation components for the NSoIT(D) platform
- Write production-grade automation using Python 3, Ansible, Jenkins, Bash, and PowerShell
- Reverse-engineer existing applications and manual build processes into fully automated deployments
- Build automation for server, network, and storage platforms across multiple vendors
- Create high-quality technical documentation and design artifacts
- Support system testing and resolve live service issues
- Work in an Agile delivery environment using JIRA and Confluence
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, service management, and security teams
Description
We are looking for an Orchestration Software Engineer to help build and evolve a cutting-edge Infrastructure Automation platform supporting a major UK Defence programme. Our team focuses on designing and delivering robust, scalable automation solutions across complex enterprise environments. This is a mainly remote position based out of Corsham, offering a contract of two years with a daily rate between £530 and £575.
