Requirements
Must:
- Java Development experience
- Cloud Services development expertise
- Strong understanding of unit testing
- Awareness of DevSecOps using tools such as Tekton, ArgoCD, SonarQube (Desirable)
- Experience with Red Hat Openshift container platform or Kubernetes (Desirable)
- Familiarity with Quarkus Framework (Desirable)
- Understanding of front-end development using Angular (Desirable)
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, readable, scalable, and maintainable code using Java and related technologies
- Create reusable patterns and encourage innovation to enhance team velocity
- Contribute to quality assurance by writing unit and automated tests
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code meets best practices guidelines
- Document code thoroughly and share knowledge of implemented solutions
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups in an Agile environment
- Collaborate with the scrum team to meet sprint commitments
Description
We are seeking a Java Developer to join our collaborative Agile Scrum team working on innovative Geospatial software. This role is based at our Newcastle office, with flexible working arrangements in place. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, with in-office attendance required for 3 days a week and the option to work from home for 2 days. We offer an initial 12-month contract at a rate of £70 per hour, inside IR35, and provide opportunities to work with the latest cloud-based technologies.
