Requirements
Must:
- BEng/BSc or Masters degree in an appropriate engineering or computer science related subject
- Strong skill set in C and/or C++ for embedded development and associated operating systems
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver project requirements, system design, and system test/integration phases
- Experience of modern DevOps practices
- Knowledge of latest System on Chip (SoC) devices, Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms, and open-source frameworks such as OpenCPI
- Good understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms and experience of modelling or simulation algorithms using MATLAB or Python
- Awareness of security aspects related to embedded systems (ideal)
- Practical electronics design experience in hardware and associated FPGA firmware development (ideal)
- Knowledge of defence domains, such as Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT), Electronic Warfare, Sensor and Communication systems (ideal)
Responsibilities
- Design and implement efficient real-time system software for developments in Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT), RF communication, and sensors
- Lead technical teams in detailed design and project execution
- Work on prototypes for urgent requirements at low Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)
- Develop new products with a focus on advanced technology domains
- Utilize design and simulation skills for various projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met
- Oversee system design and system test/integration phases
