Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to have:
- Experience with AWS and Cloud Formation or Terraform
- Proficiency in Linux administration and Nginx
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence
- Ability to obtain SC clearance
- For more senior roles, knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Hashicorp tools like Packer, Consul, and Vault is essential
- An understanding of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) focused on cost, scalability, and availability
- Experience working within an agile context utilizing Continuous Integration (CI) practices
Responsibilities
As a DevOps Specialist, I will expect you to:
- Articulate logical designs and understand how they translate into physical infrastructure
- Collaborate with multiple application developers to deliver software components within a dynamic delivery framework
- Engage in the agile development methodology in alignment with Government IT policies
- Contribute to refining our technology portfolio that is aimed at transforming the immigration management for the Home Office
Description
This role is a contract position lasting 8 months, with hybrid working arrangements based in Croydon. The daily rate is between £670 and £740, and it falls inside IR35 regulations. The position plays a crucial part in enhancing the functionality of the Migration Borders Technology Portfolio, which is designed to transform how the Home Office manages immigration into the United Kingdom. The completed system will be used by Home Office staff both in the UK and globally in consulates, as well as by applicants for visa and immigration services. We are looking for a professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively across teams to achieve critical objectives.
