Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in working in a collaborative Agile environment.
- Expertise in test automation for data and analytics platforms, with a preference for SAS Viya 4.
- Ability to assure appropriate tool selection based on business and technical needs.
- Experience in setting the strategy and approach for both UI and System Integration-based automation.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and experience in testing API endpoints.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or similar, along with associated frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Strong data management and profiling skills.
- Ability to set test direction for the automation team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- I will work as part of an Agile team, participating in ceremonies and contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, and reporting.
- I will utilize strong stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and Business Analysts, ensuring test coverage aligns with business requirements and technical specifications.
- I will ensure that appropriate automation tooling is implemented and utilized to meet both business and technical needs.
- I will design and implement automation test strategies and plans for SAS Viya 4 applications, focusing on UI-based Visual Analytics (VA) and Intelligent Decisioning (ID), along with integration testing of data pipelines.
- I will develop and maintain test scripts using appropriate automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, JUnit) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- I will confirm the test data strategy to be used and maintain and evolve the test automation suite to support regression, performance, and integration testing.
- I will support the integration of test automation into Git-based CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and troubleshoot and resolve issues in test environments, including SAS Viya containerized deployments (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes).
- I will contribute to test data management and environment provisioning strategies, ensure appropriate defect management, and articulate results and progress clearly to relevant stakeholders.
Description
This is an initial 6-month contract role with a competitive rate of £470 to £483 per day, categorized as inside IR35. The position offers a hybrid working model based in Telford. Preferred experience includes familiarity with SAS Viya architecture and components (VA, ID, CAS, etc.) and an understanding of containerized environments and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
