Must:
We are looking for a Contract Platform Automation Engineer with strong skills in VMWare, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, and Python. You must have active SC (MoD) Clearance for this role. A recent hands-on experience in creating complex PowerShell automation modules (PowerShell v4) and experience with automated deployments across multiple vendors is essential. You should possess a strong background in large-scale Windows infrastructure environments and be familiar with test-driven development and tools such as Jenkins. Experience with infrastructure/applications like SolarWinds, ELK, VMware Horizon, and VEEAM is also required. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential.
Responsibilities
As a Contract Platform Automation Engineer, you will develop high-quality production automation code using PowerShell while adhering to best practices and version control workflows (GIT/Bitbucket). You will design and implement complex solutions utilizing tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins. Your role will involve automating deployment across server, network, and storage technologies. Additionally, you will produce and review design artifacts and support system testing activities. Collaboration with Service Management teams to diagnose and resolve issues will also be a key part of your responsibilities.
Description
This is a 6-month contract role that operates on a hybrid basis (1-2 days per week) in Corsham. The pay rates range between £580 - £680 per day, Inside IR35. This is a senior engineering position that involves working on mission-critical systems supporting the armed forces. The platform is primarily built on VMWare, Windows, and Linux technologies, focusing on automation for Windows Server components, VMware SDDC tools, REST APIs, and bespoke applications.
