Requirements
Must:
- Eligible for UK SC clearance (requiring 5 years UK residency)
- Experience as a practicing Security Engineer
- Strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other Cloud Service Providers (CSP)
- Active Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification
- Proficiency in configuring network security defenses
- Familiarity with threat monitoring and regulatory compliance controls
- Ability to manage identity architectures including SSO and MFA
- Experience in automating vulnerability scanning and CI/CD pipeline management
Bonus Points:
- Experience in classified UK Government secure environments (SECRET or above)
- Familiarity with GDS Service Standards or equivalent public sector frameworks
- Experience in air-gapped or disconnected environments
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure workloads within a Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) environment
- Manage complex identity architectures including single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
- Define granular resource hierarchies implementing the principle of least privilege
- Configure network defenses including firewalls and secure service perimeters
- Implement data protection measures including encryption and sensitive data handling
- Automate vulnerability scanning and policy enforcement in CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure security, rigor, and compliance in government secure delivery

We are currently transforming a secure IT system and need a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to help architect a private cloud environment. This is a hybrid remote position based in London SW1A, offering a temporary contract for 12 months with competitive pay.
