We are seeking candidates who possess strong, recent experience in delivering integrations within an NHS environment, with specific hands-on exposure to the Rio EPR platform. A good understanding of the Rio data model, modules, and common integration points with other NHS systems is essential. Candidates should be proficient in interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, FHIR, and IHE, along with experience using interface engines like Mirth Connect or Infor Cloverleaf. Solid knowledge of wider NHS applications like EPR/EHR, PAS, and reporting platforms is also required. Furthermore, an understanding of health information standards, data exchange formats, and security protocols, including IG, GDPR, and clinical safety considerations, is necessary. We value excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly concerning complex interface and data issues. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clinicians, operational teams, suppliers, and technical stakeholders are also crucial.
Responsibilities
As an Integration Engineer, I will design, implement, and maintain integration solutions focusing primarily on Rio EPR, ensuring a seamless data flow between the Rio and other clinical and corporate systems. I will configure and develop Rio EPR interfaces, including those for patient administration, community, mental health, and scheduling modules, to support end-to-end clinical workflows. Close collaboration with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders will allow me to capture integration requirements and translate them into Rio-centric technical designs. I will also develop and manage interfaces between Rio EPR and other key NHS systems such as PAS, LIS, and third-party applications. Troubleshooting and resolving integration issues, while ensuring compliance with NHS interoperability standards and data protection requirements, will be a key part of my role. Additionally, I will collaborate with vendor teams and document interface designs, workflows, and configurations clearly for future reference. Lastly, I will provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams on Rio EPR integration patterns and best practices.
Description
This role offers a competitive rate of £550/day, and is categorized as Inside IR35. The position is remote, with occasional travel as needed, and is expected to last until March 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to support a major integration program and play a crucial role in enhancing services and patient care within the NHS.
