Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in platform engineering, DevSecOps, or related roles
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and container orchestration (e.g., Docker)
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Understanding of security best practices and experience with security frameworks (e.g., OWASP)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Active SC Clearance is required for this position
Responsibilities
- Oversee configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of secure systems; develop infrastructure solutions focusing on high availability, scalability, and resilience using cloud services, container orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and maintenance, minimizing manual tasks and enhancing deployment efficiency and reliability through Configuration as Code (CaC)
- Establish robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure platform reliability and optimize system performance by analyzing metrics and logs
- Collaborate with the security team to integrate security best practices within infrastructure and systems, ensuring compliance with standards and managing identity and access controls throughout the CI/CD pipeline
- Partner with developers and security teams to understand application requirements, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and facilitate efficient application deployments across various environments
- Proactively manage incidents and ensure platforms are continuously monitored, addressing issues promptly while implementing automated remediation
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in cloud technologies, DevSecOps practices, and system architecture to enhance operational efficiency
- Participate in an on-call rotation providing 24/7 support for the production platform
Description
We are looking for a SC Cleared Senior Platform Engineer (Senior DevOps) to join our Continuous Improvement Teams starting in January and ending in March/April. This role offers a day rate of £550 (Outside IR35) and requires travel to Newcastle twice per month. As part of our team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our platform and infrastructure components, ensuring the scalability, availability, and reliability of our systems while collaborating across teams to continuously improve platform-related challenges.
