Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with strong experience in Python, SQL, and pipeline tools such as dbt or Airflow. A proven background in data modeling, warehousing, and performance optimization is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud data services, including Glue, Lambda, Synapse, BigQuery, etc., is also required. Additionally, we value a consultancy mindset; you should be adaptable, collaborative, and delivery-focused.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines. You will automate and orchestrate workflows using AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, and GCP Dataflow. Working across leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP will be a key part of your role. You will also implement and optimize modern data architectures like Databricks and Snowflake and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver real business value.
Description
This is a contract position based in Edinburgh with 2 days onsite required each week. The initial duration of the engagement is 3 months, with a day rate of around £500, likely outside IR35 (pending confirmation).
