Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer role
- Exposure to Open Source, Containerisation and DevOps methodologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet etc.)
- Linux OS maintenance, including software rollout procedures and backup software management (RedHat and/or Ubuntu)
- In-depth experience in technical support across varying hardware and software platforms
- Ability to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Varied Windows and Linux Operating Systems administration skills
- Strong networking skills including LAN/WAN and TCP/IP
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware/KVM/QEMU/Xen)
Responsibilities
- Support and manage server and storage infrastructure across a self-hosted estate to meet Service Level Agreements
- Develop and transform the virtualised compute platform using a range of virtualisation and container technologies
- Collaborate with Technical Analysts to maintain Information systems in accordance with agreed priorities and standards
- Keep documentation up-to-date and assist in training and support for users
- Investigate user requirements for application and infrastructure changes, designing and implementing solutions
- Regularly analyse systems for future planned capacity and functionality
- Support IT development processes for improved products and services
- Ensure smooth functioning of the IT infrastructure, liaising with multiple teams and stakeholders as required
