We are looking for someone who has a passion for software engineering, demonstrated through hands-on experience in designing and building distributed, scalable systems. A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, is essential. You should possess a proactive mindset, capable of breaking down ambiguity, making thoughtful trade-offs, and driving projects from concept to production. A strong desire to learn, challenge the status quo, and innovate is also crucial for this position.
It would be great if you have experience in system architecture and building large-scale applications. We would love to see enthusiasm for promoting best practices, improving quality through thorough code reviews, testing, and active mentorship.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Risk Factor Discovery team, you will take ownership of the design and delivery of technical solutions. You will build scalable, resilient, and secure services that are utilized by clients around the world. Collaboration is key, as you will work with product and other engineering teams to solve high-impact problems. We also encourage you to apply modern engineering practices and strive for technical excellence, including writing clean code, implementing automated testing, CI/CD processes, and ensuring observability. Additionally, you will support and mentor junior engineers, helping to foster their growth.
Description
The Risk Factor Discovery team empowers clients to access, customize, and dynamically override pricing and market data inputs to fit their methodologies or regulatory requirements. Our product delivers the flexibility clients require across both Buy-side and Sell-side solutions, enabling them to define rules that can be evaluated and applied to millions of securities. We are part of the Risk Pricing Platform, which is a highly distributed system providing large-scale cross-asset valuation and market sensitivity analysis, handling approximately 2 billion security valuations each day. Located in London, our team works closely with groups spread across London and New York.
