As a candidate for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer position, I look for individuals who have:
- Experience programming in Python (or a related language) and a solid understanding of software development methodologies, open-source systems, and familiarity with Git repositories.
- Process automation experience.
- Expertise in analyzing, diagnosing, and solving problems in a Linux/Unix production environment.
- The ability to build and maintain Linux systems using automation software (e.g., Salt, Chef, Jenkins, Ansible).
- A willingness to work collaboratively within a team and share knowledge.
Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be entrusted with:
- Contributing to our CI/CD frameworks and pipeline.
- Drafting process flow charts and procedures, performing capacity planning, and implementing changes.
- Diagnosing and resolving critical system issues.
- Continuously refining processes and procedures with a focus on standardization and automation.
- Enhancing our monitoring and alerting solutions.
Description
As a Systems Operability Engineer, you’ll join a highly motivated, experienced, and dynamic team responsible for providing automatic remediation solutions, stability efforts, and self-service tooling to manage our server fleet. We aim to create a low-friction customer experience by combining Appliance and Datacenter server environments, regardless of the underlying infrastructure. Our team leverages the latest automation technologies to minimize operational toil, improve stability for our mission-critical infrastructure services, and facilitate the maintenance of our server fleet at scale. You’ll work closely with Software Developers, Frontline teams, and other key stakeholders to align with business strategies and best practices. Additionally, we hope you have a RHEL System Administrator level of competency, an understanding of various concepts such as configuration management, orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure monitoring, and telemetry, and experience using Agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban or Scrum). Familiarity with telemetry tools such as Splunk and Grafana, as well as experience with web frameworks like BENTO, REACT, Angular, or DJANGO, would be valuable as well.
