Requirements

Must:
- Previous employment in a Front-End / web design-based position is essential. - A design-related portfolio or examples of previous work are desirable. - Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (including frameworks and libraries such as Bootstrap and jQuery) is preferred. - Knowledge of developing cross-platform, responsive solutions, and Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily Photoshop) is highly beneficial. - You should be based within a commutable distance of Stevenage. - This is a fully office-based position, primarily in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, with occasional travel to other office sites in the Bedford area. - A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and enhance existing web applications and internal systems. - Create new website designs from the initial idea through to deployment. - Build user-friendly and visually appealing pages and sites. - Optimise for size, speed, responsiveness, and SEO where applicable. - Work independently to meet deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and manage time across multiple projects concurrently.

Description

We are currently on the lookout for a Front-End Web Designer for one of our longest-standing clients based in Stevenage. The successful candidate will work with a current team of 3 developers to understand how the company's sites have been implemented, leading to independent work on various projects. The role will focus on the creative aspect of front-end web design, collaborating with our existing full stack and backend developers. Projects Include: - Planning, designing, and creating a new website for specific business requirements. - Updating existing webpage layout and design. - Creating an interactive configurator for a product line. - Adding a form to an internal system. - Optimising code on pages and assets for quicker load times. Existing Technology Stack: - Microsoft Azure hosted applications. - AWS S3 file storage and CloudFront CDN. - Back end: C# ASP.NET MVC. - Front end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap. - Windows-based: Visual Studio & GitHub. Salary & Benefits: - Salary ranges from £30,000 to £35,000, depending on experience. - Working hours are Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7 am to 4 pm or 8 am to 5 pm. - We offer a generous company pension scheme. - Enjoy 25 days of holiday (plus bank holidays), rising with service. - Participate in annual company-wide events. - Work in a modern, casual office environment with on-site parking.
