Requirements
Must:
You will need to be a seasoned information security professional with a strong background in cyber risk management, technical assurance, and governance. We are looking for someone who combines hands-on technical understanding with the ability to influence, advise, and engage at a senior level.
Essential skills and experience include:
- Proven experience in a senior IT security or information assurance role.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NCSC, NIST, and GDPR.
- Experience leading on security governance, compliance, and technical reviews.
- Excellent understanding of cloud security, IAM, and infrastructure protection.
Responsibilities
As a Senior IT Security Lead, you will:
- Develop and maintain our organisation’s IT Security Strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, NCSC, GDPR, Cyber Essentials).
- Lead the creation, implementation, and monitoring of security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Provide technical oversight of system, network, and cloud configurations, including vulnerability management and threat analysis.
- Manage and coordinate security assurance, audits, and compliance activities.
- Oversee incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning, ensuring operational resilience.
- Act as the senior point of contact for cyber security matters, engaging with internal teams, partners, and national forums.
- Promote a strong security culture across the organisation through awareness, training, and leadership.
- Monitor emerging threats, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
