Requirements
Must:
- Must be eligible for SC Clearance
- Proficient in Java and cloud services development
- Experience with unit testing
- Desirable skills include familiarity with DevSecOps tools (e.g., Tekton, ArgoCD, SonarQube), Red Hat Openshift container platform or Kubernetes, Quarkus Framework, and front-end development using Angular
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, readable, scalable, and easily maintained code in Java, adhering to requirements and coding standards
- Create reusable patterns and promote innovation to enhance team velocity
- Contribute to quality assurance by writing unit and automated tests
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure alignment with best practices in coding, unit testing, security, scalability, and maintainability
- Document code adequately and share knowledge of implemented solutions
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups within an Agile environment, contributing to agile-based estimating
- Collaborate with the scrum team to achieve sprint commitments
Description
We are excited to offer a 12-month contract position for a Software Engineer in Newcastle, with a competitive rate starting from £41 per hour (Inside IR35). You will join a forward-thinking Agile Scrum team specializing in Aerospace manufacturing and innovation, working on cutting-edge Geospatial software with the latest cloud-based technologies.
