New Product Developer – Cosmetics

As a New Product Developer in the cosmetics industry, you will react to and identify market opportunities based on emerging trends, demonstrating significant commercial aptitude. You will manage the NPD process from initial concept through to order, working cross-functionally and collaboratively within all aspects of our business. Your role will include concept development, providing personalized private label solutions to clients, as well as developing range plans and creating briefs for design teams and customers. You will also handle product architecture, including copywriting for formulation developments, ingredient highlights, and presentation materials. Additionally, you will brief new formulation developments based on client requirements and work closely with our in-house chemists in the UK and China. Coordination with the regulatory team to address challenges and technical issues during formulation development is key. Responsibilities will also involve sourcing components and formulations from both UK and far-eastern factories, preparing product costings for Account Managers, managing sample preparation for client approval, and overseeing project timelines to ensure deadlines are met before transitioning to the Merchandising teams. Building strong relationships with Account Managers and Merchandising will be crucial for the successful delivery of product lines.
