Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of experience building and supporting scalable, distributed systems using open-source tools
- Proven hands-on experience with Object Oriented programming languages (e.g., Java/C++, Python/Ruby)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries (PostgreSQL experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with API frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot)
- Experience with big data infrastructures such as Hbase, RDBMS, Redshift
- Knowledge of database performance optimization techniques (e.g., indexing, caching)
- Experience with public cloud hosting providers (preferably AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
- Familiarity with modern build tools such as Maven, Jenkins, GitHub
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g., CloudFormation, EMR, S3, EC2, Athena)
- Familiarity with scheduling services such as Airflow, Oozie
- Experience with Data ETL and data modeling
- Background in building large-scale systems with knowledge in data warehousing solutions
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills (oral and written)
- Previous technical leadership and/or mentorship experience
- A commitment to excellence and collaborative relationships across the organization
Responsibilities
- Own, design, implement, and support major components of the unified back-end data
- Define how data should be aggregated and made available to consuming applications, ensuring high availability and performance
- Implement the mechanisms, systems, and software required for data aggregation
- Utilize technology stack expertise to guide future developments
- Drive engineering best practices and mentor junior team members
