Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in a senior leadership role focused on innovation, data, AI, and automation
- Strong track record in shaping and delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges
- Ability to operate at a strategic level in complex environments
- Credibility and political awareness to effectively engage with senior leaders, elected members, and partners
- Expertise in translating data insights into actionable strategies
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders
- Curiosity and an inclination towards experimentation and learning
- Familiarity with data governance, ethical AI, and compliance practices
Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for innovation, data, AI, and automation across the council
- Embed intelligence-led decision-making within the organization
- Encourage curiosity and experimentation among teams
- Work closely with technical teams to identify and address the right problems
- Lead strategic initiatives on data governance and ensuring ethical application of AI
- Advocate for insight-led decision-making within the council
- Build confidence and capability among senior leaders and the wider workforce
- Foster a culture where data and innovation are integral to decision-making processes
