Requirements
Must:
To be successful in this role, I am looking for candidates with the following experience and qualifications:
- Risk and control assessment experience within an audit or control function responsible for testing-driven assurance, specifically covering Cyber Security.
- Expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including misconfigurations, vulnerable serverless functions, container escapes (Kubernetes/Docker), and cloud storage.
- Proven experience in developing and executing assurance testing approaches for cloud environments in areas such as data security (including cryptography), security configuration, network security, cyber incident response, vulnerability management, cyber threat management, information risk management, data leakage protection, identity & access management, and cyber resilience.
- Background knowledge of IT Architecture and various technology environments including traditional on-premise enterprise environments, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of new and emerging technology, cybersecurity, and cyber resilience risks.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, or other relevant technical qualifications; and/or a relevant graduate degree).
- Practical understanding of the relevant regulatory environment.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks or standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO).
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to support the development of audits aligned with the bank’s standards and objectives by collaborating with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures. Your key accountabilities will include:
- Supporting audit development and delivery, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems, and risk management.
- Identifying operational risks to support the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.
- Assessing internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Communicating key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers, and directors.
- Identifying regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practices.
- Demonstrating leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls related to the work your team does.
