Must:
To be successful as a Core UI Platform Developer at Barclays, I expect you to have the following skills: - Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular or React. - Good experience in developing scalable, data-intensive applications using grid components (ag-grid). - Strong CSS/SASS skills for custom design implementation. - Good awareness of CI/CD and DevOps practices (Git, Unit/Automating Testing, JIRA, etc.). Additional highly valued skills include: - Familiarity with OpenFin/FDC3 platforms or micro-frontend architectures. - A positive attitude and a willingness to learn about Finance. - Any experience with charting libraries/components, particularly D3.js. You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and control, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology, alongside job-specific technical skills.

Responsibilities

As a Core UI Platform Developer, your primary responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and improving software utilizing various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. - Delivering high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. - Ensuring that the code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. - Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. - Participating in code reviews and promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. - Staying informed about industry technology trends and contributing to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. - Adhering to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure secure software solutions. - Implementing effective unit testing practices for proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Description

In this role, you will be based out of our Canary Wharf office.
