Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience of Java and Python programming and associated data structures and algorithms
- Familiarity with Linux, containerisation, Ops and data pipeline orchestration tools
- Good understanding of webservices architecture design and interactions
- Degree in engineering, scientific or mathematical discipline (preferred)
- Focus on performant and efficient code including consideration of algorithmic complexity
- Methodical approach with good attention to detail and delivery
- Familiarity with Spring, Spark and React (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and improve software using various engineering methodologies
- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools
- Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements
- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and actively contribute to technology communities
- Adhere to secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and ensure secure software solutions
- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code design, readability, and reliability
- Advise and influence decision making, contributing to policy development and operational effectiveness
- Engage in complex analysis of data to solve problems creatively and effectively
