Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone with strong business knowledge and excellent communication skills who desires to be actively present on the trading floor. You should be capable of engaging with both the Trading Desk and developers in a high-pressure environment. To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong eTrading business knowledge and expertise (preferably in Rates, but experience in other asset classes is also acceptable).
- Strong Unix skills.
- Experience managing and prioritizing a book of work to address issues and enhance the product.
- Experience with monitoring and observability solutions, ideally including tools like Elastic, Geneos ITRS, and Grafana.
- An aptitude for understanding relevant technologies and the ability to investigate logs to identify production issues.
Responsibilities
In the role of Rates eTrading System Engineer, you will:
- Apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our systems and platforms.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
- Analyze and respond to system outages and disruptions, implementing measures to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
- Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes, reducing manual workload, increasing efficiency, and improving system resilience.
- Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage, identifying and addressing bottlenecks while implementing best practices for performance tuning.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate best practices for reliability, scalability, and performance into the software development lifecycle.
- Stay informed about industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
