We are looking for a Rates eTrading System Engineer with strong business knowledge and expertise, preferably in Rates, though experience in other asset classes is also acceptable. You should be a confident communicator, able to engage with both Front Office Trading and technical developers in a pressured environment. Candidates should possess strong Unix skills and have experience in managing and prioritizing a book of work to remediate issues and enhance products. Experience using and implementing monitoring and observability solutions, such as Elastic, Geneos ITRS, and Grafana, is highly valued. You should also have the aptitude to understand relevant technologies and investigate logs to identify production issues. Key critical skills relevant for success include risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology, along with specific job-related technical abilities.
Responsibilities
In your role as a Rates eTrading System Engineer, you will apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our systems and technology. You will be accountable for the availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning. You will also resolve, analyze, and respond to system outages and disruptions, implementing measures to prevent similar incidents from rec occurring. Development of tools and scripts to automate operational processes will be part of your responsibilities, all aimed at reducing manual workload, increasing efficiency, and improving system resilience. You will collaborate with development teams, integrating best practices for reliability, scalability, and performance into the software development lifecycle, while staying informed of industry technology trends and actively contributing to our organization's technology communities.
