We are looking for candidates with strong eTrading business knowledge and expertise (preferably in Rates, though other asset classes are also acceptable). A confident communicator is essential, as you will be interfacing with both Front Office Trading and technical developers in a high-pressure environment. You should possess strong Unix skills. Additional highly valued skills include:
- Experience managing and prioritizing a book of work to address issues and enhance the product.
- Experience using and implementing monitoring and observability solutions, ideally including tools like Elastic, Geneos ITRS, and Grafana.
- Aptitude for understanding relevant technologies and investigating logs to identify production issues.
We will assess your critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, as well as job-specific technical skills.
Responsibilities
As a Rates eTrading System Engineer, your main purpose will be to apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our systems, platforms, and the technology that supports them. Your key accountabilities include:
- Ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
- Analyzing and resolving system outages and disruptions whilst implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Developing tools and scripts to automate operational processes, thereby reducing manual workload, increasing efficiency, and improving system resilience.
- Monitoring and optimizing system performance and resource usage, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, and implementing best practices for performance tuning.
- Collaborating with development teams to integrate best practices for reliability, scalability, and performance into the software development lifecycle.
- Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contributing to our organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
