Must:
As a candidate for the Mainframe Performance Specialist role, you will need to possess experience with: - IBM Mainframes, particularly TWS, CICS, IMS, MQ, DB2, and configuring System and LPAR settings on z15 and later. - A range of performance and observability tools such as Omegamon, RMF, SYSVIEW, SAS/MXG, Elastic, Grafana, and Workload Manager (WLM), alongside scheduling tools, TSO utilities, and diagnostic tools. - Developing in-house utilities using REXX, while investigating infrastructure issues and applying knowledge related to the major incident process. Additional highly valued skills include: - Familiarity with Endevor and SMF housekeeping. - Experience supporting Mainframe environments in financial services. - Knowledge of DB2 performance tuning. You may be assessed on critical skills essential for success in this role, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Responsibilities

In this role, your accountabilities will encompass: - Build Engineering: You will develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements while ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use. This includes identifying the appropriate technologies and solutions for business optimization and resources. - Incident Management: You will monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to measure, identify, address, and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages, utilizing data to reduce mean time to resolution. - Automation: You will develop and implement automated tasks and processes to enhance efficiency and minimize manual intervention, utilizing software scripting and coding practices. - Security: You will implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure from cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats, including safeguarding hardware, software, and data from unauthorized access. - Teamwork: Your role will involve cross-functional collaboration with product managers, architects, and other engineers, defining IT infrastructure requirements, devising solutions, and ensuring integration with business objectives through a data-driven approach. - Learning: You will stay updated on industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to our technology communities to foster a culture of excellence and growth.
