- Proficiency in MCA EPS and a strong understanding of Full Serve.
- Ability to independently pick up API and UI components, with proven knowledge of JAVA.
- Capability to build a Group-wide strategic desktop solution using MCA2, focusing on full integration across digital and desktop channels.
- Experience managing workstreams independently.
- Familiarity with ESasS Dashboard, live proving support, and the ability to provide accurate and insightful analytics.
- Experience working with Ops, understanding their challenges, and addressing them promptly.
You will be assessed on critical skills relevant for success in this role, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and job-specific technical skills.
Responsibilities
In your role, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and improving software utilizing various engineering methodologies that provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
- Developing and delivering high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
- Participating in code reviews and promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Staying informed of industry technology trends and actively contributing to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Adhering to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
- Implementing effective unit testing practices for proper code design, readability, and reliability.

As part of our Customer Care Technology team, you will join us in building a unified colleague desktop for Barclays Financial Assistance (BFA). This strategic desktop solution aims for full integration across digital and desktop channels, empowering BFA colleagues to provide personalized, consistent support to customers facing financial challenges. You will have an impact on the work of related teams, partnering with other functions and business areas. It is essential that you take responsibility for the end results of your team’s operations, escalating any breaches of policies or procedures as necessary. You will be expected to advise and influence decision-making related to your area of expertise while also managing risk and strengthening controls.
