Must:
To be successful as an AVP in IMS Systems Programming, I am looking for candidates with the following experience:
- Configuring and managing IMS in a parallel Sysplex environment.
- A deep understanding of IMS software management concepts, including SMP.
- Strong Z/OS skills in JCL/TWS/REXX/RACF.
Other highly valued skills may include:
- Assembler
- IMS connect knowledge
- IMS mACB
Candidates may be assessed on critical skills relevant for success in this role, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will need you to:
- Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms, ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure.
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technology through software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions that fulfill business requirements, ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address, and resolve any potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages while using data to drive down mean time to resolution.
- Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Implement security measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define IT Infrastructure requirements and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to our technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
