Requirements
Must:
To be successful in this role, I should have experience with modern data engineering practices, including event-driven architecture and data lakes. I need to have a background in digital platform development, with experience in both colleague and customer-facing applications, as well as banking software development. A deep technical awareness of cloud and data technology, such as Kafka, Data Bricks, microservices, and APIs, is essential. Other highly valued skills include technical design, analysis, and documentation of system characteristics, as well as the ability to clearly communicate project goals and updates to senior leadership and stakeholders at all levels. A formal external qualification or accreditation in a Programme/Project Management discipline may also be required.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will be building and maintaining systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes, ensuring that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. I will be accountable for the development and maintenance of data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete, and consistent data. Furthermore, I will design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage appropriate data volumes and adhere to required security measures. Collaboration with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models will also be a key responsibility. If I have leadership responsibilities, I am expected to contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and recommend changes while managing resources, budgets, and policies.

This role will be based in our London office. I will be expected to demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls related to my team's work. I need to have a comprehensive understanding of organisational functions to contribute to business goals and collaborate with other areas to stay aligned with business strategies. Creating solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought will be required, and I should seek to build and maintain trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
