Requirements

Must:
- Experience with Permissions and Profiles, utilizing policy as code to define permission roles, and familiarity with security models such as Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). - Proficiency in Java, BDD testing concepts, and familiarity with Public Cloud solutions, specifically AWS. - Understanding of authorization and authentication technologies such as Policy as Code and Identity Access Management (IAM) solutions.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and enhance software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimized. - Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define software requirements and create solutions that align with business objectives. - Participate in code reviews with peers, promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. - Stay updated on industry technology trends and contribute to the organization’s technology community, fostering a culture of excellence. - Follow secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data. - Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code readability and reliability.

Join us as an Adoption Software Engineer at Barclays, where you will play a key role in transforming and modernizing our digital estate to create a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart. In this exciting position, you will adopt a Product Operating Model mindset, addressing customer, business, and technical challenges. Your daily work will involve collaborating with various lines of business to realize their needs through solutions, rapid prototyping, and proof of concepts using Java, BDD testing concepts, and Public Cloud (AWS). We value constructive disruption and the ability to challenge established norms. Strong relationship-building skills and resilience are essential as we journey through change together. You should be capable of translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical teams while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with Ping solutions (PingGateway, PingAM, PingIDM, PingDS) is a plus. You will be assessed on critical skills relevant for success in this role, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and job-specific technical skills. This position will be based in our Glasgow or Knutsford office.
