Requirements
Must:
- Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential for this role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive nature and good initiative with the ability to solve problems.
- An empathetic attitude with the ability to build excellent rapport with users.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the school's IT systems.
- Provide efficient IT support to all teachers, support staff, and students.
- Escalate IT issues to the IT Manager when necessary.
- Retain ownership of incidents and monitor them until a satisfactory resolution is achieved.
- Follow established procedures for service requests, utilizing a ticketing system to prioritize, handle, and manage issues and queries.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Support the IT Manager in undertaking IT projects as instructed.
- Assist the IT Manager in maintaining the 3-year rolling plan.
- Provide desktop and server support.
- Set up, configure, and install authorized software to new IT equipment.
- Ensure security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops/Chromebooks.
- Fault-find existing IT equipment.
- Keep the asset register and licensing records up to date at all times.
- Provide on-site support for school events, including evening events.

You will work towards your Level 3 IT Support Apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. Salary, Hours & Benefits: - £24,027 per annum - Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week - Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for support staff with a 23.8% employer contribution (correct as of April 2024). - We prioritize staff well-being. - Employee Assistance Programme providing access to tools for improved happiness and health and support for mental health. - On-site car parking and secure bike racks for staff.
