We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Appian Developer with substantial proven development experience. Ideal candidates should have demonstrable knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), as well as experience with waterfall, iterative, and agile approaches to software delivery. You should possess extensive experience working with BPM software applications like Appian and familiarization with development tools such as IDEs and source code management. Additionally, knowledge of modeling and representing business process design using UML and BPMN techniques is essential. We value diverse backgrounds and do not have a fixed idea regarding education, as long as you can demonstrate the required level of experience and a willingness to learn. Security clearance will be mandatory, and the successful candidate must be a sole UK national capable of achieving and maintaining Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

Responsibilities

In your role as a Principal Appian Developer, you will lead a dedicated team of developers to deliver technical solutions to our customers on time and to the expected quality standards set by our Systems Development Manager. Your day-to-day tasks will include working with multiple workflow applications (both new software and existing ones). You will undertake requirements reviews, technical design, modeling, software development, unit testing, and the deployment of new applications, as well as drive continual improvement of existing applications. Your key responsibilities will also include ensuring that software development is conducted in accordance with IT quality plans and procedures, efficiently developing software using good design and implementation methodologies, performing unit testing to verify software performance against supporting requirements, attending workshops, reviews, and stand-ups to discuss development progress with project stakeholders, and preparing comprehensive documentation to support completed applications.

This position is full-time, requiring 35 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements that allow for 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
