Requirements
Must:
- Technical domain expert in AI/ML applied research (MANDATORY)
- Strong academic record in technology specialism with post-graduate qualification(s) (MSc, PhD or equivalent research experience)
- Strong coding experience in Python
- Expert communicator with presentation experience
- Experienced in open innovation including patenting and technical publications
- Strong data storytelling skills
- Ability to evaluate concepts and innovations
- Significant evidence of business impact through delivery of research
- Experience in managing project stakeholders
- Innovative thinker with ability to capitalize on new innovations
- Understanding of business case principles around innovations
- Excellent awareness of industry trends and future opportunities
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal guidance
- Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage research projects with matrixed resources
- Engage proactively with stakeholders and external partners
- Collaborate with business units on strategic technologies
- Maintain expertise in a specific technical domain
- Manage intellectual property creation and patent filings
- Define and perform research in applied AI for high impact
- Author thought leadership technical papers
- Supervise professionals, graduates, and students
- Manage other Research Specialists or team members as needed
