As a candidate for the Lead Payments API Product Manager - Vice President II role, we are seeking individuals who possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
- Experience in product management, with a recent focus on APIs or developer-focused products.
- Experience in the banking/finance sector, industry standards, and the payments domain.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing API products.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform product decisions.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SDKs, modern architectural patterns, and related technologies.
- Experience working with developer communities and third-party developers.
- Knowledge of API best practices and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Manage the entire API product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization, ensuring services are scalable, secure, and easy to use.
- Collaborate closely with the API engineering team on key elements of API design and principles, such as intuitive naming, consistent patterns, versioning, etc.
- Prioritize API features and enhancements based on customer feedback, usage data, and business impact.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to define business and technical requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Engage with customers, directly or indirectly, to understand their needs, pain points, and how they use APIs.
- Utilize metrics to measure the success of API products and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct A/B testing, user research, and data analysis to validate product hypotheses and iterate on features.
- Ensure comprehensive and clear documentation for internal teams and external API users.
- Communicate product changes, updates, and best practices to customers and stakeholders.
