Requirements
Must:
I am looking for a candidate with essential skills including familiarity with various software types, particularly programmable electronics, though in-depth expertise in all areas is not required. A strong understanding of software lifecycle principles and their application across different software types is essential, as well as knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle and its relationship to software development. Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills are required, along with an ability to find practical solutions and align stakeholders with the resolution. Desirable skills include experience with Software Assurance methods and processes, knowledge of software engineering, security, quality, and safety standards, and the ability to understand strategic direction and tailor actions accordingly.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to work with our customers to agree on an acceptable approach to risk. You will plan and carry out software assurance activities, which include reviews of plans, processes, witnessing testing, inspections, and auditing. You will review software plans, documentation, and software aspects of system-level plans and documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. Engaging with System Designers, Software Developers, and other engineering disciplines during the design process to ensure that the software meets requirements will be crucial. Additionally, you will document the level of risk and provide evidence and reporting for senior management. You will work with a range of stakeholders at all levels to resolve non-conformances and program risks.
Description
We offer a competitive salary and a range of benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave, and a Company-contributed Share Incentive Plan. Additional benefits such as flexible working, an employee assistance program, Cycle2work, and discounts may also be available, along with eligibility for an annual incentive. This role is part of the growing Submarine Software team and presents significant potential for development both technically and personally. You will quickly develop an understanding of the development, use, and control of software in our complex and unique applications, actively participating in decision-making and problem resolution for critical design aspects. We provide relocation support packages for eligible candidates and pride ourselves on maintaining an inclusive culture that values diversity and ensures opportunities for all backgrounds, especially those currently underrepresented in our industry. Please be mindful that many roles are subject to security and export control restrictions, which may affect eligibility based on nationality and residency. The closing date for applications is April 6, 2025, and we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications.
