Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer – Modelling Location: West Midlands. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please discuss with your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience Essential: - I have experience of Model Based Systems Engineering processes and practices in the defence, maritime, or closely linked industry, with a solid understanding of the context of my work within the overall product as well as an academic basis underpinning the discipline. - I possess experience of the engineering lifecycle with specific experience in the phase relevant to the role and an awareness of the entire engineering lifecycle. - I hold knowledge of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations. Desirable: - I have experience working with a Systems Engineering modelling tool such as Enterprise Architect (EA). - I have experience working with a Systems modelling language such as SysML. - I possess knowledge of modelling frameworks. - I am knowledgeable about or have awareness of ISO15288.

Responsibilities

- I will apply my Model Based Systems Engineering expertise and domain experience through the formalised application of modelling to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities. - I will understand and model the customer and user needs of the product system and how this will influence and impact design activities and technical and operational performance. - I will ensure that design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the model, and endorsed by the appropriate level of authority. - I will integrate these models with other models of the submarine platform. - I will report the programme status for engineering activities, identify problem areas, and implement recovery plans, which will include managing any consequent change embodiment activities. - I will lead the development of estimates for the scope of work and the resources required to deliver it in order to support bids, proposal development, and project planning activities for various systems. - I will share my knowledge and experience to lead and develop others in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
