Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer Location: Rochester, Kent Salary: £44,000 – £54,000 depending on skills and experience To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential skills: - Good technical hardware engineering and development skills, with a solid understanding of electronic systems and software. - Experience with the hardware engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design methods/activities, verification, and formal release and configuration. - Familiarity with test equipment design. - Ability to prioritize and manage your work with minimal guidance. Desirable skills include: - Experience working in an engineering environment. - Education to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for: - Collaborating within a team to develop test equipment solutions that meet the complex and demanding requirements of our diverse range of products at the Rochester site. - Managing hardware requirements and validation. - Engaging in hardware design and integration. - Addressing hardware obsolescence issues. - Ensuring system safety. - Creating and maintaining design documentation. - Providing accurate estimation for project tasks.

As part of our Test Systems team at BAE Systems Rochester, you will work on active projects that involve developing hardware used for testing and simulating various avionic systems, such as Head-Up Displays, Helmet Displays, Mission and Flight Control Computers, and Flight Controls.
