Must:
We expect you to have a good knowledge of industry standard security policies, standards, and good practice guidance, particularly in relation to IT solutions processing protectively marked information. An in-depth understanding of threats, risks, vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation strategies is essential. You should also be well-versed in information security standards such as HMG, ISO 27001/18, and NIST 800, as well as possess a wide-ranging knowledge of application, infrastructure, and security technologies. Experience in implementing secure configurations within on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments, along with working in a project environment applying risk management methodologies, is important. While it’s not required, certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, and/or CCP are desirable.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will engage in cyber security risk assessments of systems and services, supporting the definition and design of secure solutions to meet business needs. I will assess architectural designs, identifying proportionate cyber security controls aligned with business objectives. I will conduct assessments of systems, services, and cyber security controls to provide an independent analysis of compliance with security policies, standards, and external regulatory requirements. I will lead assessments of cyber security controls to determine their effectiveness in reducing risk, including any vulnerabilities. Additionally, I will analyze, create, and compile documentation that determines the compliance level of systems and services against applicable certification, accreditation, and internal policy requirements. Managing penetration tests and vulnerability analyses to support risk mitigation strategies will also fall under my purview. I will provide support to stakeholders in resolving cyber security issues and act as a subject matter expert regarding assurance activities for the wider organization.
