Requirements
Must:
- A relevant STEM degree in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Nuclear Engineering
- Demonstrable experience using radiation transport codes such as MCNP, MCBEND, or Attilla
- Understanding of radiation physics and its practical application
- Experience in radiation safety studies and behaviours
- Experience in radiation metrology
- Knowledge of the ALARP principle
Responsibilities
- Supervise and conduct assessments and experiments to support system qualification
- Contribute to ongoing design optimisation
- Produce and review radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions
- Direct the development of in-house toolsets to meet departmental goals
- Support detailed shielding design, balancing build constraints with system performance requirements
